Phrakhru Panya Sutthaporn, Wat Kerwan Sutthawat


Phrakhru Panya Sutthaporn, chief abbot of Wat Kerwan Sutthawat, Maha Sarakham, Thailand
Born in north eastern Thailand, Buriram. Name given by parents was RuangSak. Entered monkhood on 27 Apr B.E 2527 (1984) at Wat Suttpasopoon, Buriram under chief abbot Phrakru Vituntamatorn.
In B.E 2531, Phrahkru took 3 months walking to Myanmar, met Archan Hoongtun in mountain and learnt fortune reading for 3 months.
Phrakhru continued his meditation through walking, this time he travelled via Yangon, Muang Soong, Chiang Dong and Chiang Loong to reach Laos, Pa Bang. He settled down in a cave at Buffulo mountain, which few of the Thailand top ten monks used to meditate there ie. LP Fan, LP Kao, LP Mun, LP Wean and also LP Phromma.
After Phrakhru came out from the cave, he travelled back to Thailand and learnt Tudong (meditation in jungle) and Lersi Tafai under LP Phromma of Wat SuangHin PanNangKway for 2 years.
On 23 May B.E 2534, Phrakhru reached and resided in Wat Kerwan Sutthawat, Maha Sarakham. At the sametime, he followed LP Walaput to learn wicha.
In B.E 2535, Phrakhru went for tudong in Laos for 3 months before he take over the post as chief abbot of Wat Kerwan Sutthawat in B.E 2536.
After he took over the post, Phrakhru made his first trip to Singapore with his master LP Walaput for 1 week. From then onwards, he visits Singapore once or twice a year and was invited to Malaysia by some devotees.
Due to his great contribution to the temples and Thai Buddhism, his effort was recognised by the royal temple. In 5 Dec B.E 2541, PhraKhru was awarded as PhraKhru Chan Toh and his name was changed to Phrakhru Panya Sutthaporn by the current King Rama IV. At the age of 35, he was the youngest Phrakhru Chan Toh awarded by the King.
In 5 Dec B.E 2547, PhraKhru was awarded another higher post of PhraKhru Chan Yid. It only took him 6 years to promote from PhraKhru Chan Toh to Chan Yid. This made him the fastest monk who promoted in such a short period of time.
Phrakhru had mastered the skill of Lersi Tafai from LP Phromma. He was told that wicha Lersi Taifai is a very powerful skill that he should use to help more people. Phrakhru is very well verse in fortune reading, metta (kind loving), Kongkrapan (protect from sharp object), Klewklad Puatpai (general protection), Kankong (prevent black magic), improving one's luck and removing black magic.
Phrakhru Panya now has a huge group of devotees in Singapore and Malaysia, and visits these two countries twice a year to see them.
